The de Blasio administration says it's no longer considering plans to turn one Lower Manhattan building into a jail.

The original plan was to convert the Louis Lefkowitz Building on Centre Street into a jail as part of the city's plan to close Riker’s Island.

A spokesperson for the Mayor's office said moving to the building would be more costly and complicated than originally planned.

The city said it's now looking into expanding the Manhattan Detention Complex on White Street instead.
