An attack against a woman at a Brooklyn subway station is now being investigated as a hate crime.
The move comes after repeated cries from community advocates and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams.
Police say the 57-year-old victim was attacked Friday night after exiting the Q train at the Church Avenue and East 18th Street station in Flatbush.
Her attacker allegedly yelled racist comments at her and punched her.
A Go Fund Me account titled "Support stab victim Ann Washington" has been set up to help the woman with medical expenses. It has a $10,000 goal.
Police say they are looking to question a man in connection with the attack. A sketch of the man provided by the NYPD can be seen above.
The Anti-Defamation League is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
