NEW YORK - Police are trying to retrace the steps of the two Saudi sisters found dead along the Hudson River last week.

Investigators say Tala and Rotana Farea made stops in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia before coming to the city.

They also believe the pair went into the Hudson while they were still alive.

The sisters were found duct-taped together after washing ashore near near 68th Street in Riverside Park.

Their bodies showed no signs of physical trauma.

Tala and Rotana previously lived in Virginia and were reported missing in August.

The girls' mother also told detectives her daughters were applying for political asylum in the U.S.
