A driver accused of hitting and killing a bicyclist in North Syracuse will spend up to 11 years in prison.

33-year-old Vontelle Sparks pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene and tampering with evidence.

The victim, 27-year-old Lawrence Maturo, died on West Taft Road earlier this summer.

Several relatives and friends of Sparks were also accused of helping him cover up the accident.

Sparks faces between 4 and 11 years in prison when he's sentenced next month.
