NEW YORK - A former Uber driver is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a female passenger in February.

Prosecutors say Harbir Parmar picked the woman up in Manhattan for a ride to White Plains, but changed her destination to Boston when she fell asleep.

The woman told police that when she woke up, Parmar was groping her chest.

She also says that he refused to take her to a police station and instead left her on the side of I-95 in Connecticut.

Uber says Parmar was fired as soon as the company learned about the incident.

He has been charged with kidnapping and faces life in prison if convicted.
