Meghan Daly, owner of the ‘Daly Pie’ in Brooklyn says she’s in danger of losing her business to eviction.

“You wake up every day and you do it to the best of your ability. And, there is a ton of stuff I didn’t get to do, not enough hours or energy to do” she said.

Daly fought back against breast cancer, which is now in remission.

But because of that battle, her bills skyrocketed.

“It’s my busiest time of year and I want to be there for that,” she said.

A GoFundMe was started a year ago to help with her bills.

It’s brought in more than $40,000, but Daly is still behind in rent by thousands of dollars.

She tweeted asking for pie lovers to preorder Thanksgiving pies.

She says her busy season could make or break the store.

“I had a lot of friends and family support me and help me both here and encouragement that would come to doctors’ appointments with me” Daly added.

And now that she’s in remission and she has her sense of taste back, she wants to keep doing what she loves.

One frequent customer said, “I am eating pie for dinner because I love this place. And I’ll be so sad if it closed down."

"It’s sad to hear that because this is a neighborhood spot I think people use it to work, kids and moms come here, they have a happy hour. It’s become a neighborhood staple," another added.

She has given this store her everything and hopes it survives, just like she did.

“I’m feeling better, all things considered, my hair grew back - still takes time to feel yourself again,” Daly said.

If her store can stay afloat, she’s hoping to get some new items on the menu.
