NEW YORK - A former student has filed a bombshell lawsuit against the New York City Ballet.

Alexandra Waterbury accuses the dance company of condoning the abuse and mistreatment of women.

She says her former boyfriend, principal dancer Chase Finlay, shared explicit photos and video of her with colleagues that were taken without her knowledge.

Waterbury claims similar incidents happened to other female dancers, and the ballet did nothing about it.

In a statement, the company denied the allegations it fostered a culture of abuse, calling the lawsuit baseless.

It insists there was a swift response once officials learned what happened.

NY1 has reached out to Chase Finlay for comment.

He resigned from the ballet last week.
