Police said Saturday evening they were questioning a person of interest in connection to a man breaking into an 11-year-old girl's bedroom in Brooklyn earlier this week and raping her.

There was no formal arrest as of the time of this writing.

The NYPD said a man climbed through a window of the home near Winthrop St. and Flatbush Ave. in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Once inside the sleeping victim's room, according to police, he raped her before fleeing through the window.

The girl screamed for her parents, who then called 911. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The man is seen in surveillance video provided by police wearing a white sweatshirt with block letters that spell out "SF," along with dark pants and white sneakers. The NYPD said he was wearing the sweater while walking around Ocean Ave. and Church Ave.
