An imam from Brooklyn says his grandson was the 4-year-old boy whose remains were found in a New Mexico compound last week.

Siraj Wahhaj also says the 11 other children who were rescued are also his relatives.

Authorities raided the compound on suspicion of child abuse.

Police say Wahhaj's grandson was taken there after being abducted by his father in December.

That man was among five adults arrested at the site.

The imam says he's shocked his son and two of his other children were involved.

"To me, it's obviously something happened, some mental disorder or something, I don't know what it is. This doesn't seem like them," Wahhaj said.

Prosecutors say the imam's son had been training children at the compound to carry out school shootings.
