Police are searching for a man they said stabbed another man in the mouth with a pen on a Manhattan subway platform before stealing his cellphone.

Officials said the attacker had approached a 36-year-old man on a northbound 6 train around 10 p.m. on June 28 before following him off the train to the 125th Street-Lexington Avenue station.

The perpetrator then stabbed the victim, threw his belongings onto the train tracks, and ran away with his cellphone, according to authorities. The 36-year-old was not hospitalized due to the attack.

Sources said the attacker had yelled racial slurs at the victim.

The attacker is described as 35 years old, 6 feet fall, weighing about 190 pounds, and was last seen wearing his hair in a bun, a beige t-shirt, and dark pants.
