NEW YORK - Charges are pending against a homeless man police say attacked three women Monday on a Manhattan subway.

Investigators say he ran through cars on a southbound B train and punched the three victims in the face at random.

It happened around 10 a.m.

Straphangers were able to restrain the man until the train got to the 59th Street-Columbus Circle station, where police were waiting.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital for evaluation.
