NEW YORK - The  Patrolman's Benevolent Association is touting a court victory when it comes to the release of police body camera footage.

The State Supreme Court Appellate Division Panel granted the union an injunction until it's court appeal is heard in November.

PBA President Pat Lynch says the NYPD's release of the footage is "illegal."

He adds that anybody who is interested in privacy should find it unacceptable.

In a separate case, NY1 has been suing the NYPD  to get access to the footage from the 2015  pilot program, arguing that the footage is part of the public record.
