New Yorkers are gearing up for the Fourth Of July and the Macy's fireworks that go along with it.

Techinicans has been preping for the 42nd annual extravganaza at a top secret location.

More than 3 million people are expected to watch the display in person.

The fireworks will be set off from seven barges along the East River.

Offical viewing areas are between East 23rd and East 40th Street, but the show can also be seen from parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

Macy's is promsing to make this year's display it's biggest in almost 20 years.

"We're going to have the loudest finale we've ever had," said Gary Souza, a pyrotechnic designer with Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks. "So it'll start off with whistles, sirens, thunder reports, lightning flashes, and then turn into the red, white and blue columns of fire, and then end with a thunder flag, a mile-wide thunder flag of white stripes of thunder, red blasts of thunder and blue above that."

The show will be packed with performances, including Kelly Clarkson and Ricky Martin.

The fireworks begin at 9:25 p.m. on July 4.
