All 53 of the city's pools open to the public today and one Queens location in particular is sporting a makeover.

Elmhurst residents got a preview Tuesday of the upgrades made to the Fisher Pool.

It's all part of the Parks department's "Cool Pool" initiative.

The pool got a new paint job, lounge chairs and games.

"But many of them look and feel the same way as when they were built decades ago. All of these community pools were built in the 1970's, so this space hadn't seen a makeover in well over 40 years," said City Parks Commissioner Mitchell Silver.

Pools are open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with an hour-long cleaning break at 3 p.m.
