Honesty Curry was taken to Tampa General Hospital June 12 after Larry Golden, Jr. called 911 claiming she was unresponsive.

Authorities say Curry had bruises, bite marks and lacerations on her body. Golden and his girlfriend Breonna Wren, 21, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated manslaughter of a child.

"I feel like I'm stuck. I can't function right," Toya Curry, Honesty's mother. "I can't think right right now. My soul is hurt to be honest. My soul is really hurt."

Authorities say both Golden and Wren told them Honesty suffered those injuries in a fall, but Wren later admitted she and Golden struck the child.

Golden and Wren are both being held without bail and are due back in court July 17.

Curry would not disclose the location of the funeral.
