The city's LGBTQ community is getting ready for pride week and nothing could start it off better than a good brunch.

The National LGBT Chamber of Commerce hosted the Pride Luminaries Brunch Sunday at The Garden At David Burke Kitchen in SoHo.

The event celebrates the success of local gay and lesbian business owners by connecting them with larger corporations.

"Just look around us we are surrounded by brilliant business leaders, you see some great sponsorship here from companies from every industry," said National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President Jonathan Lovitz.

"They give us opportunities to pitch our services to large corporations and that helps a small women owned, lesbian owned business like ours to thrive," said Cindi Creager of Creager Cole Communications.

Pride week culminates with the annual march next Sunday that runs along Fifth Avenue.

Organizers say they're prepared for one million people to come to the city for the festivites.
