With the return of heat, comes the return of pesky mosquios that potentially carry diseases like Zika and West Nile Virus. To reduce the risk on mosquito-borne illness, the health department will again spray mosquitos this week.

From Tuesday through Thursday, between 6am to 7pm, trucks are scheduled to spray pesticides and adulticides in select locations across the five boroughs.

Helicopters will also be dropping a larvicide made of natural bacterial granules  onto marshes and other large natural areas away from residences. It kills larvae before growing into adult mosquitos.
