It's a sweet day in the Bronx as an Arthur Avenue bakery celebrates its 100th anniversary.

Madonia Bakery opened in 1918 and is considered a staple in the "Little Italy of the Bronx."

And although the heart of the bakery remains the same as the years go on, the product line has evolved with the times.

"We still do much of the way he did it in terms of making bread and the products that he made. We added a whole line of other things; specialty breads and cannolis and things like that, but we really tried to keep the tradition that he brought here from Sicily steady for the last hundred years," said owner Peter Madonia.

Madonia is known well beyond the Bronx.

It's also referenced on the set of the Broadway musical "A Bronx Tale."
