SAN ANTONIO -- A house fire on the northwest side of town is out after crews worked on it for about two hours.

Neighbors told firefighters they heard a loud pop before seeing smoke and fire at a home on Johnny Red Drive, near Oglethorpe, shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Flames spread to a next door two-story home. That house was vacant but is now considered a total loss. The home where the fire originated was damaged.

A cause of the fire is under investigation, a total of 28 trucks responded to the scene.
