Some environmentalists and community leaders want to give new meaning to Mondays.

They are kicking off what they call Climate Mondays. It's a weekly series of organized gatherings focused on building political support for the Off Fossil Fuels Act. The OFF Act would meet and exceed the goals of the Paris Climate Accord by mandating 100% clean, renewable energy in America by 2035. It is the strongest, most aggressive climate and energy legislation yet introduced in Congress.

These meetings will run each week through the summer. They will provide New Yorkers with information and tools on how to communicate with their congressional leaders and candidates and get them to support the legislation. The kickoff event is Monday June 4th at 7pm at 144 West 18th Street in Manhattan. For more information go to www.facebook.com/ClimateMondays
