RANDLEMAN, N.C. -- Carl Kennedy was in Randolph County court, where he answered to charges related to abducting his daughter at knife point.

The 7-month-old child who had been the subject of an AMBER Alert was found safe on Tuesday.

Danville Police, FBI, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Secret Service arrested Carl Kennedy in Randleman, N.C. Tuesday morning.

Randolph Heath said Emma Grace Kennedy left the hospital with her mother and family members around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

According to police, Emma was abducted by Carl Kennedy Sunday night in Danville, Virginia.

Carl Kennedy, who is registered sex offender, assaulted the child's mother with a knife at a gas station and then escaped with his daughter.

Carl Kennedy is being held under a $2 million bond.
