A police officer fired a shot Friday night after officers responded to a possible shooting Brooklyn, the NYPD said.

Officials said officers responded to 58 St. and 1st Ave. in Sunset Park around 11 p.m. after a party boat let off passengers at the intersection. Police said they received a report of a large argument where the boat let people off, and they believe someone fired at least one shot there. A semi-automatic handgun and a baseball bat were recovered at the scene.

The NYPD said a few minutes later the officers pursued a car that they noticed was driving recklessly and speeding. That vehicle crashed into another car on Avenue C near East 8th St.

Police said as officers approached the car, one of them fired a shot.

Officials said the driver was transported to a local hospital with an injury to his left pinky finger. It has not been confirmed at this time if the police officer's shot caused that injury or if the man was hurt beforehand.

The NYPD has not confirmed any arrests.

Three people who were in the car that the suspect's vehicle crashed into were treated at a hospital and are expected to be released.

The NYPD's Force Investigation Division is investigating the incident.
