Update, 10:51 A.M., May 26, 2016: Kenneth Lynch, 36, has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the death of Messiah Allen.

A 3-year-old boy was found dead in the Bronx Thursday night, and sources tell NY1 police are questioning the boyfriend of the child's mother in connection with the case.

Police say officers found Messiah Allen unconscious with bruises on his face at the Sotomayor Houses in Soundview Thursday night.

The child was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner has ruled Messiah's death a homicide. They say his death was caused by multiple blunt force injuries.

Messiah's godmother, Althea Johnson, says she had seen signs of abuse, and thinks the boy's mother and her boyfriend should be held responsible.

"And like I told the person who I spoke to on the phone with ACS, that even if she didn't put her hands on him, she's just as guilty because you allowed this man to do this, you allowed this to happen to him," Johnson said.

No arrests have been made in the case thus far.

The Administration for Children's Services is also investigating.
