Friends and family are pleading for help to find a missing New York City taxi driver who they fear may have committed suicide.

Supporters gathered Tuesday said Yu Mein "Kenny" Chow of Queens was last seen May 11.

Police classify him as a missing person, but friends and family said they fear the worst, saying he was under a lot of financial stress.

The Taxi Workers Alliance said Chow's cab was last parked at 86th St. and East End Ave. on the Upper East Side. Richard Chow, Yu Mein Chow's brother, said Yu Mein picked up three fares before parking his car there on the day he went missing.

Richard Chow said the NYPD does not appear to have any leads right now.

"We're in a very public location. There must be a number of cameras in this area. We're at a prominent park, down a block from the East River and from Gracie Mansion. We know that this is an area that would be highly surveilled by the NYPD, and inside Kenny's taxi there was actually a camera," said Bhairavi Desai, the executive director of the Taxi Workers Alliance. "So we want more answers. We want a more expeditious investigation."

Friends and family said the 56-year-old had been depressed, as he struggled to pay a $700,000 loan on his medallion, and medical bills for his wife, who was diagnosed in with Stage Four cancer last October.

Chow is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds, and has brown eyes and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and khaki pants, police said.
