A Bronx man has been charged after police said he turned himself after stabbing his pregnant girlfriend Tuesday.

The New York City Police Department says officers responded to an apartment on Walton Ave. near East 165th St. in Concourse around 12:35 a.m.

That's where they found the Livia Abreu, 30, with multiple stab wounds to her torso.

Abreu was brought to Lincoln Hospital. Police said she is in critical but stable condition, but her fetus was pronounced dead.

Oscar Alvarez, 30, faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.

He originally fled the scene but turned himself in a few hours after the alleged stabbing, authorities said.

An investigation is ongoing.
