Straphangers sprang into action Wednesday afternoon to help a person who fell onto the subway tracks in Chelsea.

NY1 has exclusive video of the rescue at the 14th Street and Eighth Avenue Station.

The video was shot by our digital producer Andie Lowenstein along the A, C and E line. She says she didn't see the fall but turned when fellow riders started screaming.

Without hesitation, people jumped down to help the person to safety.

Andie says it was actually a miracle that no one was hurt. She was waiting for a 1 p.m. train along those tracks that was running late.
