A Manlius barn is destroyed by a morning fire.

Fire officials said flames could be seen coming from the Palmer Road property about a mile away.

By the time multiple crews arrived before 8:00 Saturday morning, the barn was already gone.

Fighting the fire was no easy task, as crews had no water.

It took 45 minutes to get a water supply set up.

They also had to deal with items in the barn that were combustible.

It was certainly a team effort utilizing resources from at least four counties.

"We have 18 tankers here from numerous counties, we have UTV's going around for wildfires that are sparking out back, we have our drone that was flying to give us the aerial perspective of what's happening here, this was the first time the drones flown officially here,” said Manlius Fire Chief Brad Pinsky.

As for the cause, officials say the family heard a popping sound and their lights went out before the fire, so they believe that is related.

No one was injured and cows in the barn were able to get out on their own.
