Demonstrators hit the street Tuesday for May Day rallies, protesting President Trump's immigration policies, private prisons, and demanding better treatment of workers.

Demonstrators from Make the Road New York gathered in Lower Manhattan in the morning for a march from the Battery to Wall Street.

Advocates protested Wall Street, arguing it is profiting from the mass incarceration of undocumented immigrants.

Specifically, they called out financial companies that have invested in private prison companies that they say have gotten a big boost since the election of President Donald Trump.

Advocates said the conditions inside the prisons are much more dangerous than government-operated facilities.
