The city police department has released surveillance video of a man it said sexually assaulted a teenage girl at knifepoint in a bathroom in a Brooklyn park earlier this week.

Police said the man cornered the 18-year-old around 8:20 a.m. as she was leaving the women's restroom inside the Martin Luther King Jr. Playground in East New York on Monday.

Officials said he dragged her back into the restroom at knifepoint, sexually assaulted her, and ran away.

The 18-year-old was taken to a local hospital and was treated for her injuries.

The man is described as 6 feet tall, with brown eyes and black hair, and was last seen wearing black sneakers, dark pants, a black jacket, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, and a red hat.
