A new Siena College poll shows Governor Andrew Cuomo holding a sizeable – but shrinking – lead over his Democratic primary opponent, Cynthia Nixon.

The survey shows Cuomo easily beating Nixon in a head-to-head matchup, 58 percent to 27 percent.

But that’s a drop of eight percentage points for Cuomo since Siena polled the race last month, before Nixon had officially declared her candidacy.

Cuomo’s favorability rating also fell to 49 percent — matching his all-time low from 2015.

The statewide poll was conducted from April 8 to April 12 and has  an overall margin of error of plus or minus four-point-three percentage points.
