The city's transit chief is slamming New York's Finest for a train delay this week.

Police held an A-train for 90 minutes during the Thursday morning rush hour to investigate a fight that broke out involving mace and a knife.

The investigation caused serious delays.

Transit president Andy Byford said he was "concerned" about how long the train was sitting.

"It should have been escalated, certainly, to my chief operating officer's level and, ultimately, to mine, because I would have been all over that, saying, you can have the train, but you're not having it there. We'll give it to you, you can take it somewhere else. You cannot stop the service for 90 minutes for a fight," Byford said.

#MTA for the win.

Byford said that he appreciates what the police do and that the two departments will work more closely together in the future.
