No verdict has yet been reached as deliberations began Monday in the trial of a Brooklyn man accused of stabbing two children, killing one of them, in 2014.

Prosecutors said Daniel St. Hubert followed Mikayla Capers and Prince Joshua Avitto into an elevator at the Boulevard Houses in East New York and stabbed them multiple times.

Avitto was six years old. He died from his injuries.

Capers, who was seven at the time, was severely injured but survived.

The now 11-year-old testified against St. Hubert last month.

St. Hubert faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, and assault.

If convicted, he could spend 50 years to life behind bars.

Deliberations are scheduled to resume Tuesday.
