AUSTIN, Texas -- A 12-year-old boy became the youngest person to debut his designs at Austin Fashion Week.

With each stitch, Creed Voyles weaves in a bit of his quirky personality to his collection. He doesn't quite fit the mold of a fashion designer, but he's learned from a professional.

"I went to school in Paris for design and that was 30-years-ago, maybe," said Voyles's mother Gail Chovan.

Chovan is a well-known designer in Austin, who also teaches at the University of Texas and in Paris in the summer, bringing along her two kids.

"Going to see fabric in all of these shops and he would take it back and just start cutting it, no sewing in those days," said Chovan.

Voyles picked up a needle and thread at the age of 8 and began taking his designs to the next level.

"What inspires me is dragons. That's what this collection is going to be involving," said Voyles.

This weekend marked a huge milestone in Voyles's short career in fashion. He said he was a bit nervous when he walked on stage.

"The crowd was shocked by me. I felt happy, but it was scary at one point," said Voyles.

This wasn't an easy task for Voyles. He's had some late nights, balancing homework, after school activities and designing six different outfits to show off, modeled by some of his friends. The experience is a tough one to beat, but Voyles can't wait to get back to his sewing machine.

"Now, I want to get more done," he said.

Voyles wants to have his own show again next year and hopes to work alongside his mother.
