Queens-native, Ali Dineen, will perform the classic song, "Peace in the Valley" on Friday night with her band, The Crimson Ragdolls, as part of the Brooklyn Folk Festival.

"You can just go from room to room to room, and you will never be bored and just hear such a wide range of music," she said.

St. Ann's Church in Brooklyn Heights will be home to the festival this Friday through Sunday. The event, produced by the not-for-profit Jalopy Theatre and School of Music in Brooklyn, with musician and music instructor, Eli Smith, is in its 10th year.

"It has blues and jug band music and string bands and music from all different immigrant communities from around New York City," Smith said.

"Everyone comes back to the Folk Festival, whether as a guest or a performer, and so it's a family experience of seeing old friends and people playing together," said co-producer Lynette Wiley.

Wiley said families are welcome to performances, so there is no need to worry about getting a babysitter.

"Saturday day and Sunday day, you can purchase just a day ticket, and those are great family events," Wiley said.

And look for Dineen and her band Friday night. She looks forward to catching up with other folk artists from all over.

"You are just running into people and everybody's hanging out and catching up, which is a really important part of it, too," she said.
