A reminder to city drivers — Alternate Side Parking Rules are suspended March 30 through Sunday, April 1 for the obesrvances of Good Friday and Passover.

Good Friday for Chrsitians is one of the most solemn days of the year.

It's the day they commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.

Many churches re-enact the Stations of the Cross, marking Jesus' journey through Jerusalem.

There will be two "Way of the Cross" processions in the city Friday morning.

One of them starts at Cathedral Basilica of St. James in Brooklyn and makes its way over the Brooklyn Bridge to the World Trade Center.

The other begins outside the Church of the Holy Family on East 47th Street in Manhattan and ends near Holy Cross Church on West 42nd Street.

The Jewish celebration of Passover also begins Friday at sundown.

The eight-day holiday recognizes the Jewish exodus from Egypt, when the Israelities were freed from slavery.

Jewish families hold seder dinners and eat traditional unleavened bread, also knows as matzah.

Passover lasts through next Saturday.
