Mayor Bill de Blasio was greeted by protesters this morning in Brooklyn.

Police officers and their supporters gathered outside the mayor's gym in Park Slope for a rally organized by the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association.

The PBA says it wants to call attention to de Blasio's labor record, and says the mayor keeps making bad faith offers in negotiations over a new contract.

The union is asking for fair market-rate of pay and cost-conscious benefits.

"We're worth more than zeros," said PBA President Pat Lynch. "We brought this city back. We keep it safe from terrorism and crime. Pay us what we're worth. We're a lowest paid police department across this country. That's just wrong."

The police union says they're beginning talks with the state's public employment relations board.

We've reached out to the mayor's office for comment.
