Eight people, including four firefighters, were injured in a 4-alarm fire in Manhattan early Saturday morning.

The call came in just before 1 a.m. to a building near 2nd Ave and East 103rd Street in East Harlem.

Flames broke out on the first floor of a four-story building that includes apartments and a deli.

When one employee reported to work this morning, he was shocked.

"This is, there's no words to this. It's extreme, you know," the employee said. "I didn't picture it like this when one of the customers told me. I thought it was going to be something really lighter than this, something like a little burnt, but it's the whole store, it's everything. I'm just super shocked right now."

The fire was under control just before 5 a.m.

The eight injured patients were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

More than 160 firefighters responded to the scene.

The Red Cross says four families were displaced.
