The World hearts New York.

Tourism in the city is not only booming it continues to break records.

Almost 63,000,000 people visited the city last year.

That is an increase of more than two million visitors from 2016.

This marks eight years in a row that tourism has increased in the city.

Most visitors are Americans.

Almost 50 million tourists were from the United States.

The head of the city's official destination and marketing organization says these numbers are especially impressive considering the geopolitical challenges and a travel ban that made promoting tourism even more challenging.
