ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- While the city of Rochester clears sidewalks and increases police presence to prepare for the St. Patrick's Day parade, bars and restaurants along the route are bracing themselves for the thousands of parade goers.

"Following the parade, everybody kind of funnels into the local establishments," said Louie Maier, who owns Brass Bar and Lounge.

Come St. Patrick's Day, Maier's bar, along with dozens others near the parade route are expecting to be at full capacity.

"It's a good problem to have, to worry about too many people coming through your doors, really. So as long as the demand is there, we always put safety first for people," said Maier. "Regardless of the weather, it's quite the extravagant gathering of the community."
