The new website RealMTA.info is giving straphangers real-time updates on subway delays by wiping affected lines right off the MTA map.

Web developer Eric Markfield created it to use publicly available information to highlight subway delays.

Disrupted lines disappear from the user's view.

"I thought that I should start with the iconic subway map that everyone recognizes and then try to alter it in someway," said Markfield. "I think that in a lot of ways this preempts the problem when you get into the station. Try to find a different route before you even get into your trouble."

Markfield says he may try to develop an app version of the website next.
