HOUSTON — A mother and her three children were rescued Monday from a burning apartment building in northwest Houston area.

Firefighters were called around 2 a.m. Monday to the Cornerstone Village Apartments in the 14100 block of Cornerstone Village Drive.

An 16-unit building was engulfed and a mother and her children trapped on a second-floor balcony.

Caught on camera were first responders pulling the family to safety.

It is unclear if any other residents were trapped in the building. Fire officials said the building was destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
