The calendar said February, but Wednesday's weather felt more like May.

The temperature in Central Park reached 78 degrees this afternoon, which made Wednesday the all-time warmest February day on record.

The previous record-high for Feb. 21 was 68 degrees, which was set in 1930.

The last time New York City reached 70 degrees before Wednesday was Nov. 3 of last year.

The warm weather has New Yorkers trading in their winter coats for shorts.

Many were up early enjoying a run or bike ride in Central Park.

Others are just happy to see a break from the cold, if only for a little while.

"I've been running on the treadmill for the past couple of months training for this half marathon coming up," said one New Yorker. "Can finally get some fresh air."

"Are you kidding? This is the best, if this would stay. But I fret because it's not March yet, so maybe we're in for some nasty weather. But I hope it stays," said another.

The unseasonably warm weather is a far cry from the weather this past weekend, when a few inches of snow covered the five boroughs.
