SYRACUSE, N.Y --Christians across Upstate New York are among many worldwide reacting to the death of Evangelist Reverend Billy Graham.

Graham died Wednesday morning at his home in North Carolina at the age of 99.

The charismatic preacher took his evangelizing crusades around the globe for more than six decades including one at the Carrier Dome in April of 1989.

The week-long crusade attracted a total of more than 103-000 people to the Dome.

We spoke with members of a non-denominational church in Syracuse about Graham's legacy.

Many have been inspired by his ability to have such a spiritual influence on people.

"Billy Graham's messages were largely very simple but deeply touching to people so he was such an inspiration because he was able to connect with any person no matter what you're background, spiritual background, life background was," said Faith Chapel Pastor Jim Tuttle.

Graham also held a crusade in Syracuse at the War Memorial in 1953.

He served as a counselor to several presidents, from Dwight Eisenhower to George W. Bush, who gave him the nickname "America's Pastor."
