RALEIGH – A man is behind bars after police say he robbed a bank in Raleigh.

Fifty-one-year-old Byron Edwards was arrested by Raleigh police after the robbery of the PNC Bank in the 4000 block of Capital Boulevard Tuesday morning.

Officers say Edwards approached a teller with a large envelope and demanded cash.

He was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene.

Edwards is being held at the Wake County Detention Center.
