Two people were hurt when an ambulance caught on fire at AMR headquarters in Buffalo Tuesday morning, later sparking an explosion.

Firefighters say the explosion ignited an ambulance which was destroyed. The loss is estimated at $100,000.

Debris from the explosion also started a small fire on the roof of the building and damaged 20 to 30 employee cars in the parking lot.

The two people injured were near the ambulance at the time of the explosion and were taken to ECMC for evaluation.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious but remains under investigation.
