GREECE, N.Y. — A Rochester area church is remembering those killed in the Florida shooting.

At this mass of solidarity Monday night, Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Greece honored the victims by displaying each of their faces and delivering a message of peace and hope.

"That really is what the church is," said Rev. Bill Coffas. "It is a place of healing and of comfort, and of peace. And that is really why I wanted to provide this opportunity, to invite people to come in, to reflect on the gospel message. To honor the people who were killed in the tragedy last week, but also to encourage people to reflect on how God is calling them."

The homily also conveyed a message of hope, with Father Coffas calling on people to "be the change they wanted to see."
