CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Marvel's Black Panther is breaking barriers in the box office and in the black community.

Many point to its almost all black cast as a positive representation, especially for the next generation.

One group that’s hoping to capitalize on this is Buffalo's Omega Mentoring Program, Inc.

"When I was younger, I loved watching superhero movies and I always joked 'I want to be a superhero.' But now little kids can actually see that they can see themselves in a movie like this,” said program member Morgan Holloway.

Team leaders took a group of their teens to see a showing of the movie Monday evening in Cheektowaga.

"No matter what color you are, you can be great at whatever you do,” said member Taya Porter.
