A warm front will struggle to make its way across North Carolina Monday. That means we will see a wide range in temperatures across central North Carolina in the afternoon.  As milder air arrives from the south, temperatures in the Sandhills will warm to the mid 60s.  That milder air may not quite make it to the Triangle where highs should top out just in the mid 50s.

The warm front will also keep mostly cloudy skies across the region through the day along with spotty showers. The chance for rain is higher in the morning compared to the afternoon.

As the front continues to move to the north Monday night and early Tuesday morning, warmer air will spread across the entire region.  Fog is possible early Monday night and early Tuesday with lows in the 50s. Partly sunny skies are then forecast for most of the day Tuesday as highs soar to the mid 70s.

The warmth will then continue for most of the rest of the week. Wednesday will likely be the warmest day this week with highs near 80.
