Governor Cuomo is taking his energy efficiency fight to the streets.

The Governor's Office has released a new video about the Smart Street Lighting program — which he highlighted in his the State of the State address last month.

The state is vowing to convert at least 500,000 streetlights around New York to energy-saving LED lights by 2025.

The Governor's Office says it will ultimately save taxpayers about $87 million a year, and will help the state's goals in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The initiative is being led by the state Power Authority.
