The city is urging New Yorkers to be mindful of dangerous travel conditions Saturday night, with a Winter Storm Warning in effect for part of the city.

The warning has been issued for the Bronx, Manhattan, and northern Queens and lasts until 7 a.m. Sunday. The southern part of the city is under a Winter Storm Watch through Sunday morning.

The worst of the snowfall is projected to last from 8 p.m. Saturday to midnight.

The snow and rain are projected to end between 3 and 5 a.m. Sunday. By about 3 a.m. Sunday, most of the city will see rain instead of snow.

Road conditions may be slick and reductions in visibility are possible.

NY1 is forecasting one to three inches of snow in the city. Temperatures will remain above freezing as the snow falls, so it will have a tough time accumulating on roads and sidewalks, collecting mainly on the grass and cars. The snow could mix with rain in the southern half of the city.

The fast-moving storm could bring northern parts of Manhattan and the Bronx 2 to 4 inches of snow. The city's coasts could see less than an inch of accumulation.

Call your airline ahead of time to get an update on your flight, as delays are possible.

Sunday will mostly be dry. Highs will be in the 40s with partly cloudy skies.

Watch for showers Monday, but temperatures are expected to quickly rise Tuesday and Wednesday, with 70 degrees not out of the question.

Late next week, however, it is projected to cool down again.
